  • Paul Berriff (Director of Operation)
    Founder crew member of Humber Rescue after several years in the Auxiliary Coast Guard. He has been a film maker and camera man and is now a hotelier.
  • Dave Roberts (Trustee and Coxswain)
    Dave has over 40 years experience of the River Humber, having spent 5 years as a Pilot apprentice, starting in 1966 and 20 years in the Merchant Navy. He has been a member of Humber Rescue since 1989. Dave started off as crew number 11 and is now crew number 1.
  • Martin Rumford (Trustee and Coxwain)
    Martin joined in late 1994. He became a trustee in 2005. Despite being the oldest crew member, Martin is still one of the fittest. He is currently employed as a lecturer at Hull College.
  • Ian Bennett (Senior Crew, Coxswain and Secretary)
    Ian joined in 1993. He is employed as a Manufacturing Technician at a local factory. Ian has worked his way through the ranks at Humber Rescue to become the Senior Crewman and Coxswain.
  • Tony Sole (Coxswain and Equipment Officer)
    Tony's role with Humber Rescue is to look after the personal protection equipment (ppe). Tony joined in early 2006 and has a passion for boating and the water. He has been a BSAC diver for several years where he gained his diver coxswain award.
  • Graham Anderson (Coxswain and Health & Safety Co-ordinator)
    Graham joined in September 2006 and is currently employed as an Aerospace Engineer. He has a keen interest in boats and currently restoring a 1943 Naval Launch.
  • Dave Bertholini(Coxwain and Training Co-ordinator)
    Works for Hull City Council Children and Young People's Services, and has a long list of outdoor qualifications including RYA Power Boat Instructor. Dave is a keen diver, canoeist, climber and sailor.
  • Marc Bloomfield (Coxswain)
    Mark is employed as a mobile vehicle mechanic for prestigious cars. He is a boat owner and his family have all been members of Brough Yacht Club. He therefore has a lot of experience of the rivers in the region. He has been a member of Humber Rescue since the early 1990's.
  • Martin Norman (Crew and Maintenance Supervisor)
    Martin joined the crew in 2004. He is a fully qualified fabrication welder with over 20 years experience. He joined Humber Rescue to put something back into the community. Martin also uses his trade skills within the Humber Rescue organisation.
  • Mike Cass (Crew and Maintenance)
    Mike joined in summer 2006. He grew up with a boating family and a love for the sea. "As a full time engineer and crew with Humber Rescue there is not a lot of spare time but it's worth it."
  • Alan Stewart (Crew and ICT)
    Joined in 2008 after attending a whale stranding incident with Humber Rescue in his previous capacity as regional coordinator for British Divers Marine Life Rescue. Employed locally as a project manager with an extensive background in ICT.
  • Sean Cahill (Crew)
  • Tom Dickenson (Crew)
    Tom joined Humber Rescue to give something back to the community. Tom works full time as a joiner.
  • Simeon Hamilton (Crew)

  • Pete Tighe (Crew)
    Has been a volunteer crew member since 2008. Currently employed as a programme manager for a youth development charity. As an Instructor in outdoor education and an expedition leader Pete has travelled the world extensively.
  • Marcus Wherat (Crew)
    Marcus joined in 2003. He was a Radio Operator in the RAF for 13 years and is has been a Police Officer for the past 9 years. He has skills in radio operations and first aid. He has recently taken on a joint training role and Health and Safety role in Humber Rescue.

  • Margaret Jay (Boathouse Support)
    Margaret has been helping out around the boathouse since summer 2006. She also takes a keen interest in fundraising.
