Humber Rescue is entirely dependant on donations from the public and the generosity of local businesses to maintain and improve their service.
The Humber Rescue service is available round the clock and covers approximately 540 square miles and includes the Rivers, Trent, Ouse, Hull and Humber.
The first incident was attended in April 1990 and by June 2006 a total of 1000 incidents had been attended. This included 106 incidents in 2005 and 105 incidents in 2006. That's averaging more than one every week and between 60 and 70 a year since Humber Rescue was formed. Last year's incident tally was 98.
