On Saturday 9th April 2011 Humber Rescue unveiled their new Lifeboat at an official Launching and Naming ceremony.
The event took place at the charities boathouse on Hessle foreshore with the Lifeboat being officially named by the Lord Mayor of Hull, David Gemmill OBE. The Lifeboat has been named ‘Hilary P Berriff’ after the wife of Humber Rescue founder Paul Berriff.
The Lifeboat is manufactured by XS Ribs is 8.5mtr long and 2.9mtr wide and powered by twin 200hp Mercury Verado engines capable of speeds in excess of 46 knots, she comes fully equipped with 2 GPS/Chartplotters, 2 Depth sounders, 3 VHF Radios and a full array of rescue equipment.
Since entering service (up to 08/07/2011) the ‘Hilary P Berriff’ has attended 31 Callouts.
